Ulead MovieFactory old/new version template compatibility?

MovieFactory 3 seems to have just one .ufo file for a template, but MovieFactory 6 seems to have a .ufo file + a .ini file for the template. Is it possible to copy a MF3 template into the MF6 template folder and make use of it even though there's no corresponding .ini file for it?

If anyone's interested, this is what I ended up doing:

In MF6, I had saved two customized Favorite templates, and I quickly compared both .ini files for those two, and they looked the same, so I copied a MF3 .ufo template and put it in the MF6 Favorite folder and cloned a MF6 .ini file but changed the filename to match the same naming pattern as the MF6 template. I made a DVD in MF6 using the MF3 template and it worked ok, and the menu highlighting selection worked (not sure if it was because of the older MF3 template or if it was because of running the Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Patch 2.
