hi im trying to convert a movie it is layer 2 so i can convert on dvd2one..
ok the problem is when i get too 52% on dvd decryptor i get a(unrecovered read error) ( abort retry ignore) i keep retrying but still get the same error.. any advice what to do, ive cleaned the disc and ive tried 3 times, and get the error at the same point every time 52% do i just ignore and try and complete and what r the chances of it being a coaster thanxs

Sounds like you have a scratch or other imperfection. You can choose to ignore the error which may result in viewing problems with your disc. It may be as minor as a simple skip. Once you've ripped the disc, watch it with PowerDVD (or equivalant) to see if it is worth burning.

Do you have two DVD read drives? If so, try to rip the DVD in the other drive... Ive had a similar problem in the past, and the fix was that simple.

ok just done a different dvd and this worked fine the 1st must be scratched but it looks like a mirror ?????? any comments would be welcome thanxs again

Clean the source disc. Even if it is brand new out of the package, it could have a microscopic bit of crud on it, preventing the read. Recently I had to clean American Wedding 4 times (right out of the package) before it'd rip.

i only have one dvd drive LITE-ON DVDRW LDW-811S [CD-ROM drive]
and one cd writer drive LITE-ON LTR-24102B [CD-ROM drive] -
flashed the firmware that worked it reads it all now and no burn errors either
