  1. I dont know much about audio encoding so if this sounds stupid forgive me.

    I want to upsample a 2 channel wave to a DD 5.1.

Is it possible to take a 2 channel stereo wavve convert it to a mono wave, then try create a 5.1 using the same mono wave and putting that wave on 5 channels? (C, LF, LR, SL, SR - LFE HAS NO AUDIO)

would this be possible? If so, then what program would be able to achieve this?

    Thanks in advance...

  2. Its possible, but its not really worth the effort.

If you really insist on doing this, you can create the various wav files with Goldwave. Then you would need a full featured Ac3 encoder such as Sonic's soft encode (discontinued tho I believe) to encode the 5.1 Ac3 file.
