I'm trying to copy a copied dvd-r that was ripped with DVD Decrypter, shrunk with DVD2ONE, and burned with Primo Prassi all on a PC.
I'm on a G4 running Jaguar 10.2.8 with a Pioneer 106 using DVDBackup, Detox, and Toast 5.1.
The disc in question plays fine on my standalone as well as on Apple DVD player and VLC. I can mount the disc and view the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders - but I cannot view any of the VOB and ISO files in the VIDEO_TS folder. I try to open the folder and nothing happens. DVDBackup won't recognize the disc.
That said, I'm able to use DiskCopy to create disk img file and burn that img file using Toast. But I'm curious as to why I'm unable to view the files and simply drag and drop the VOBs like normal from a copied dvd-r. Don't like to take the extra steps.
Has anyone ever run into this? Any of the above software known for these compatibility/anti-copy problems?
Thanks in advance.

is it +r or -r?
since it was burned its already below 4.4 gigs so you dont need to back it up with dvdbackup.
just drag the dvd to your desktop with OPTION - DRAG
then brun that folder -
It's -r.
But that's not the problem.
I can't just drag and drop. I can see that there IS a VIDEO_TS file on the disc. I just can't open it to see what's IN it... nor copy it.
I have to jump through a bunch of unnecessary hoops to even copy it to my hard drive and even then, only as a .img file rather than a nice neat folder full of .VOBs .
I'm trying HADES on it. We'll see what happens. -
interesting...
other options are open toast, use COPY then go to file and save as so it saves an image to your HD which you can then burn
or use DISC COPY, same thing make a .dmg of the disk to the HD which you can then burn
