  1. I have a problem when i burn a (Super)Video-CD on my computer...

first off, i author it using VCDEasy, and create bin/cue image.
Then i load the *.cue file in Nero and burn the disc.
I burn it onto a CD-R at 8x (I will try 4x later and see if that helps at all)
The disc plays fine in my dvd player.

now here is the odd part...

right after burning the disc, it is ejected. this is normal with Nero. I push the button and put the disc back into my computer. I can then play the disc using WinDVD.
    HOWEVER...
when i take the same exact disc and put it back in my drive later...
i can hear the disc start to spin, and the green light blinks as it always does when its loading... but then the light goes out (as if there is no disc in the drive). Then, in WinDVD, it says there is no disc. I click on My Computer and, also, that says there is no disc. Nero "confirms" also, that no disc is in the drive. This is the same disc i burned and played back earlier.
Why do i have such a strange problem?

i can burn a Video-CD and play it back on my dvd player as many times as i want, but as for playback on my computer, i can only do so once.

Is there a problem with the settings on my cd-rw drive? do i need to make some kind of upgrade? does it have anything to do with the burning speed? grr i'm so frustrated over this........

    please help me...

  2. Have you tried playing the svcd with windows media player? I have ver. 7 and it supports vcd, svcd, xvcd. If that works by opening the avesq file in the mpeg folder, then it would be your windvd program.

  3. no...

the problem is deeper and more complex than that.

my computer actually thinks there is no disc in the drive. it shows as nothing. not even a blank disc. it just shows as no disc.
my dvd player can play it just fine.

i have no basis for comparison on how other computers can handle the discs, since i only have one computer, and one cd-rw drive (my cd-rom drive is broken)

also, if i try to burn a multisession disc using nero, it comes up with the same problem. it says there is no disc in the drive.....
