  1. I created two titles on a DVD+R and inserted chapters
myself......then i finalized the disc. The disc plays in all 3 of
my dvd players but the chapters i created don't show up in ANY of
them. (i can't use the chapter skip...i can only search thru the disc)

I used a MEMOREX DVD+R which is one of the supported dvd+Rs for this
    recorder.

When I create chapters on a DVD+RW the chapter skips work just fine.

Why arent my chapters (edits) being finalized so my other players
reckognize them? (of course, i put the disc back in the CH1500 and
    it reckognized them just fine!)

  2. This is a universal problem applied to all DVD+R discs.

Likewise, you cannot add chapter stops in a recording, as this also requires a change in the video stream. However, if the recorders offers this functionality, you can add chapters in a DVD+R recording afterwards, but these can not be made DVD-Video compatible. You can only access them when the disc is played on the recorder, and hence they should be considered as a convenience feature.

One way to circumvent this problem is to select the "Auto Chapter On" option which will create chapter for each 5-minute segment.

  3. So if I let the player create the chapters on a DVD+R (every 5 minutes) THOSE will work on a regular dvd player ?

And what about the other edits I make (hidden chapters, etc) do those also not transfer to a regular Dvd player?

if this is the case, i'm going to be buying DVD+RW from now on...I don't see the point of even using a write once option with this recorder.
