    Hi. i'm a newbee and want to know if it is possible to playback svcd or vcd on a playstation 2. if i need a chip or anything else. i hope someone is so pleased a help me..

    It is not possible to play back VCDs or SVCDs on a Playstation 2 out of the box. There is no modification in existence that will allow you to do this at present.

    FOOOL. Buy yourself a DVd-r or DVD+R burrner and make a fat ass SVCD on it. THere now you can play svcd on a PS2.

    so this mean i cant play svd on my playstation when i make an dvd copy with an normal cd recorder like ricoh??

    PS2 does not play VCD or SVCD.
