hello all, need a bit of help -
before i reinstalled xp on my pc i was able to burn my 700mb movies 5 at a time on to my blank dvds e.g 4 or 5 movies on each dvd, all of my movies would be in my movies folder and each file would have the windows media file icon on it. i was able to burn with nero vision everything was great no problems.

but ever since i reinstalled windows, the burning process has not worked eg i copy 4 700mb files on to a dvd using nero vision the first file might work but usally the pc will freeze for a few mins. the only difference that i can see is that the movie folder that i use, the icons on the movie files is not the windows media icon but a film strip with AVI wrote in it. so iam thinking this is the problem.

the old dvds i have with films on them are still working so its not the dvd player on the pc. must be the file type but i cant seem to be able to fix this problem???

nero vision come up with a loads of these errors -
read errors from sector 841776 to 841839
read errors from sector 841776 to 841839
read errors from sector 841776 to 841839
read errors from sector 841776 to 841839
read errors from sector 841776 to 841839
read errors from sector 841776 to 841839 thes numbers should be different for each line, i just copyed and pasted them.

    hopefully someone can help me....
    robert!!

ps i have updated the plugins on nero

I'm a bit confused now You get the files from your pc onto a blank DVD but when you burn and play the films back your pc will freeze? Or you can't get the films to burn to a blank DVD?

If you're getting read errors while burning, the problem is with your HDD - Nero can't read the source file.
Try copying the AVIs to some other location on another HDD (or in another folder) and try writing them to DVD.

ya have just tried moving to another HDD and also tried moving to another folder.
2 of the 3 films worked, but the 3rd did not.

i have noticed that when the burning is happening in nero vision the problem seems to start around 70% and continues till the 100% with all the "errors reading from sector 868533 to 869789" start to happen from 70% onwards, but the burning goes fine untill it gets to this stage. the burning really slowsssss down from 70% onwards... any ideas?

A shot in the dark - try Imgburn and use the test mode.
