DVD 2 DivX For PS2

i recently got a new computer whith a dvd-rom drive and a cd rw drive. i was wondering if it is possible to convert a dvd into a divx file that is playable on my ps2 or a stand alone dvd player.

YOU CAN! You need a MODCHIP and a GAMESHARK
Just burn the DIVX has data disc

If you want to make a DIVX file to play on a stand-alone DVD player, you will need a DVD player that supports DivX. Look to the left of this page and click on DVD PLAYERS. Do a search for players supporting DivX. They are really just starting to become available. LiteOn, KISS, Philips., etc., have them.

Many stand-alone DVD players support SVCD (MPEG-2) and VCD (MPEG-1) playback on CD-R and there are many programs (lots are free) that can do this. Yuo may want to check the DVD PLAYERS section again to see if your DVD Player will play SVCD/VCD.

As for PS2 playback of DivX -- I don't know!
