i'm using convertxtodvd to convert my avi viles to dvd files. i have the most updated version so thats not the problem. the dvd media that i use are the sony dvd-r 16x and the verbatim dvd-r 16x. the problem is that when it finishes burning and when i play the disc in my ps2 it pauses for a split second every 3-4 seconds. now when i play the finished dvd on my sony 5 disc changer it works perfectly and when other people play the disc it works perfectly for them also.

my question is what am i doing that makes the disc skip like that in my ps2 and not in my other dvd player and other peoples dvd players?

Allow ConvertXtoDVD to output to a DVD folder ... but nothing "more" than that.

Now use ImgBurn to do the burning directly from the DVD folder to your DVD media.

Consider burning at no faster than 6x speed.

    That should fix it.

PS2, specially the old (not slim) one, is very picky on media. PS2 Slim is OK, but old PS2 is not to be seriously considered as DVD player.

And: Please use a title that describes your problem! I've changed it for you this time.

  6. PS2 fat only reads -r

    PS2 slim should read both.

I believe there is a diag method you can use with your ps2 that lets you adjust the dvd laser so it plays better.

    1) Turn on your PS2 and select "Console" using the directional pad followed by the triangle button.
    2) Select "On" and press the X button.
    3) Insert a disk and the console will automatically begin the diagnosis.

Note that the diagnosis setting will reset itself to "Off" when the console is restarted.
