  1. I am starting a new thread to keep things simple. https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=768855#768855
In the above thread it was recommended to me to try VirtualVCR. I am having trouble getting anything to show up in the preview screen. I have the Video card, codecs for audio and video chosen and nothing shows. Shouldn't the video show as soon as I play my VCR?

  2. I am not familiar with your capture card and the drivers for it. I don't wish to add more confusing terminology, but it depends on whether you have VFW or WDM drivers. Virtualvcr works with WDM and Virtualdub with VFW.

If you do have WDM drivers, then you need to go into the setup of virtualvcr and select source (S-Video, Composit, Tuner), Pal or NTSC, compression (Huffyuv, if you have installed this codec), etc. These all have to be set properly, then there is a icon to enable or disable preview on the main window. Depending on your setup, you may (and probably should) turn off preview before capturing.

Go to Settings-->Video Input. Now see if it is set for the source you are sending into your system.
    Hello.

  4. Do you mean the settings in VirtualVCR or my computer?
