Uninstalling Ulead Movie Factory SE?

I'm about as new as one can be to recording movies from a camcorder.
I got my transfer cable and some poorly translated Japanese instructions from HITACHI and proceeded to install Ulead Movie Factory, SE.

After trying several times I managed to download from camcorder to PC, but there I got stuck. Trying to make movies got me messages like:
Template not found and Please convert to PAL in the edit step.

I worked with a HITACHI tech, but neither of us could make it work, nor could we uninstall in order to reinstall the program.

Can anyone help me get the program out and back in again?

Some discs have the uninstall on the install disc. Have you tried inserting the install disc? Some have options to repair or uninstall on them. If not...I recommend Norton Uninstall.
