  1. I've tried backing up two movies Matrix Reloaded & Deer Hunter to no avail. I am a newbie to dvd recording but I've spent almost 20 years in i.t. so no stranger but I have to admit defeat and ask an expert.
I use dvd decrypter and decrypt all files on dvd.
Then use dvd shrink to re-author movie to fit on one dvdr.
I then use nero6 to burn the files which play fine on my pc but both my dvd standalone players don't recognise the burned dvdr.
I've used a high quality dvd-rw disk for testing and several different quality dvdr's.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

I JUST did Matrix reloaded and I used dvdshrink (skipped dvd dycrypter) and burned with nero 6...no problems. I dont know why you used dycrypter in the first place. Are you burning to a '-' or a '+'? Hope this helps!
If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0

What B1TCHM4GN3T said and I would assume your DVD players are compatible with your media? (DVD players on the left side of the site)

  4. Your standalones might not play DVD+/-R at all. Some dont. Check the DVD players link to the left. Older players are the one that tend not to I believe. Though some new ones dont either. If you have been using minus disks try using plus disks assuming you can burn them. Or the other way around.
