  1. I have istalled Ulead dvd movie factory 2 se which came with my dvd writer but each time i try to run it, it just crashes and the XP send error report box pops up. Has anybody else come accross this problem and if you have please tell me how u fixd it.

I have re-installed it a couple of times but still no luck, i tried it in win98/me compatable mode but no luck.
I downloaded a trial version of the program and that won't start either, i think i have a conflict somewhere but aint got a clue what to do and am at a standstill. Please help someone.

  4. Hi Downer, i used vcswap to disable the following codec and all works fine now: "ffvfw MPEG-4 Codec". Try disabling it on your system, if its not that codec then try disabling others 1 at a time until you find the one thats causing a conflict. Hope this helps you out.

  6. Had a similar issue with Videostudio 6. It worked for months and then all of a sudden gave an error when I tried to load it. Used vcswap do disable ffvfw MPEG-4 Codec and now it's up and running again after an entire month. Must of downloaded it when I was playing with DIVX encodings.

Ulead techsupport suggested I reinstall win2K. Glad I found this post before I started doing that.

I guess I'll now email tech support back so they stop telling people to reinstall windows.
    Thanks again

  7. Actually, Microsoft has repeatedly warned against installation of so-called "codec packs" with their non-standard codecs.

"Nimo and Tsunami codec packs are untested compilations of various codecs and filters commonly used on the Internet."

"Incompatibilities are known to exist with some of the components in the packs."

"The incompatibilities can cause serious playback issues in Windows Media Player and other multimedia programs, lead to system corruption, and make it difficult for Microsoft Support to diagnose and troubleshoot playback issues."
