  1. hi

    i installed svcd2dvd 1.5 today

before i convert the bin/cue files to vobs i can read the bin/cue files with daemon tools and it mounts the image but once svcd2dvd has done its work they are corupted , i have proven that it is svcd2dvd by making an exact copy of the bin/cue files before i started encoding the second film and before i started i mounted all bin files 1 at a time with daemon tools , once i had finished creating the vob files the bin/cue files couldnt be mounted with daemon tools but the copys of the bin/cues i had made could be

can someone explain why this happens

I was suprised at this post as SVCD2DVD justs ripps the BINs and doesn't change them in any way. I also did a test. I did a byte by byte comparison with WINHEX before & after SVCD2DVD had processed a BIN. There were no differences.

Can you do a file comparison at byte level with a hex editor to back up your claim?

  3. yes ok i will do that but what i did do was -

before the first time i ran svcd i had mounted both images (bin & cue) into daemon tool .i then converted the bin/cues into nobs and burnt the dvd and then i wanted to burn a couple of cds of the bin/cues but nither daemon tools or nero would except them.

so i then tried another set of bin/cues but this time i copied them to a temp folder first , tested them all with daemon tools and they all mounted fine and i could view the svcd films fine .

i then ran svcd2dvd on 1 set of bin/cues and created audio_ts/video_ts folders and vobs

the bin/cues that i had let svcd2dvd proccess were no longer valid but the copied ones (in the temp folder) were just fine .

you must admit it sounds like svcd2dvd is somehow corrupting the bin/cues

this is the error i get of daemon tools

  4. well ive tried a hex editor and compared files and it says there is no differences , so why is one set (the untouched ones) fine but the ones that svcd2dvd used no good

ChrissyBoy could you recreate what ive done

1 make a temp folder and copy 1 set of bin & cue files into it

2 mount all bins/cues with daemon tools , to prove they work ok and unmount all

3 use svcd2dvd to convert 1 set to vobs

4 now try to mount the bin/cue files again

see if you get same result as me

Well without doing your test i can think of one possibility to explain the issue. SVCD2DVD renames files to replace - with _. It may have done so in your case and so the reference in the cue file will no longer be valid. Open it in notepad and also reneame the bin filename.
