  1. When using tmpgenc to encode an avi to dvd mpeg2 i set the final file size to 99% of a 4.7gb dvdr and when it finished encoding the final file size was 3.19gb. According to my reckoning its at least 1gb short of what it should be. Has anyone else had any experience of this? Any help would be great.

  4. well then from my knowledge that is why you got a small filesize. when you set the file to be 99% on a dvd disc that is just a rough estimate but when you had the variable bitrate it uses less bits when there are not any high action scenes . but dont worry you havent done anything wrong.
