I recently installed a Plextor (PX-708a) IDE DVD writer. My first DVD was a slideshow consisting of jpgs, mov, & avi.
The jpgs were taken from a Nikon digital camera. The mov files were video clips also from the Nikon 4300. Finally the avi files were captured from a VHS tape.
I left a standerd video clip that Roxio has included by default with their logo.
After burning, I had trouble playing the disc back on PowerDVD & WinDVD.
1) Both stalled during the init Roxio logo clip.
2) Neither would skip to the next picture untill the next scene button was pressed.
3) The video quality of both the Quicktime mov files & the avi files were terrible & worse yet, they played in slow motion.
That being said, when I popped the DVD+RW into my APEX AD-2500, the dvd played flawlessly with none of the aboce three problems.
How come the software DVD players won't play something that a standalone DVD player can? Is there a better software DVD player out there?
