    Anyone heard of any issues with standalone Toshiba DVD players (not HD) and using -R media? Someone stated they couldn't playback any -R type burned DVD. (no specific model)
    Why are ones and zeros so complicated? Linear Video Editing was easier. Downloading & streaming are two different things.

    Why are ones and zeros so complicated? Linear Video Editing was easier. Downloading & streaming are two different things.

    I have the HD-DVD A2 and it played an R- fine. Upconverted and everything.

    Using good media is usually the key to success. Not DVD+R vs DVD-R.

    Who exactly is this mysterious "someone" referred to in your first post? Is there a reason why you trust this person?

    My SD-2715 works flawlessly with most brands of +R...have had too many problems with -R's to even bother trying again.

    I misunderstood him. He said that the +Rs' would play. My mistake.
    BTW; I have know him for 20 some years.................
