Ok, I think I've followed the guides to a Tee and already have some experience ripping and burning movies from DVD to VCD/SVCD... just got my Sony DRU-510A for Xmas and attempting DVD to DVD-R.... I've done this:
1. DVD Shrink 3.0 (beta5): ripped to VIDEO_TS files
* I can play the movie with File Mode using PowerDVD player. Thus, I assume this step is done correctly.
2. ImgTool Classic 0.91: convert to .ISO files (1GB files as I am using FAT32)
3. Daemon Tools: Mount image to test and found the movie stops/pauses somwhere 25% into the movie. I tried this twice on my DVDs, X-Men and Crouching Tiger so don't think it's the source.
4. DVD Decrypter: I even tried burning the .ISO image onto DVD-R media just to see if it's the same result and the movie pauses near the middle and my player ejects it.
Daemon Tools is a lifesaver because I would assume the problem lies in my .ISO image since there were no problems playing the VIDEO_TS files on my HD. Is this the correct assumption? If so, should I try a different imaging app.??? What should I use?
My next step is to d/l NERO 6 demo version and burn the VIDEO_TS files (assuming I can) and bypass the image/.ISO step.
More advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
