  1. hi, i'm quite a newbie with all this dvd converting stuff, so if u could bear with me!!

I just got a new dvd-writer, pioneer 106 and i had a few vcds which i thought i would convert to dvd, i know it wont give best quality, but i thought id give it a try.

Please correct me when i have done something wrong or stupid !!
I firstly converted the vcd - mpg, to dvd by running it through tmpgenc plus, it gave me a 4Gb file which i then put through tmpg dvd author and finally burnt onto dvd-r.
When i playback on my dvd player there is a high pitched sound, its only clear when it is quite, therefore it is not too bad, but it is there through the whole film. The sound was not there in the vcd??

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    thanks

  2. Providing you have a standard VCD (352x240), you do not have to do anything other than resample the audio to 48khz. 352x240 is a valid DVD resolution. Use a RW disk when you're learning too....
