I have used TMPEG Plus (following Lord Smurf's guides) to convert captured vhs-c tapes from avi to mpeg-2. I am just about to the point where I will be burning the various clips to dvd's. I was planning on using Studio 8 to do this, but it just occurred to me that Studio 8 might reencode my clips. If it does would that potentially change the quality of the final product? I mean, I followed Lord Smurf's guide for a reason.
I already bought Studio 8 a few months back, and like so many others , wasn't able to capture correctly with it. I figure I can still get my money's worth if I can use it to author dvd's. But, if it reencodes then maybe not.
Also, can anyone tell me if IFOEdit reencodes?

    Thanks.

  2. If it does re-encode without crashing it will take all day and night to complete. When I had that software installed the best I ever did was to get 94% done then the computer would lock up.

  3. Ifoedit can not, will not, reencode. It would not, could not in a house, it would not, could not, with a mouse. it would not, could not here or there, it would not, could not, anywhere.
