Astrum!

This is what i'm doing...

I had an excellent quality DivX Video file, here are it's original specs :
Size/Aspect : 720x352 (2.05:1)
Bitrate : 667 kb/s
FPS : 23.976

It played damn good on my computer... clear images.

I used TMPGEnc to convert it to DVD Compliant mpeg2 ..
DVD (NTSC) Template loaded
CBR : 5265 (As calculated by BitRate Calculator)
Frame Rate : 23.976 fps
Encode : 3:2 Pulldown when playback
Source Aspect Ratio : 1:1 VGA
Video Arrange Method : Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio)

I got the .m2v file.
I authored the DVD in DVDMaestro and burned the DVD, with Aspect Ratio defined as 4:3 in Maestro.

The final DVD playing on my TV had two problems.
A lot of distortion visible... the kind of "pixelation" that you get in poor quality VCDs. When the scene was still, it was crystal clear, but when there's movement or dark images on white, you can see the enormous distortion. It's horrible.
Second, some parts of left & right were out of screen... very little bit, but nevertheless, it should not happen.

Any clues on what i'm doing wrong and what i should do? I don't want to waste more DVDs.

Thanks,
Mickey
