  1. Ok. I'm trying to make a Data Disc (DVD) and I want to move around the files that I've added in my compilation but Nero decides to arrange it for me. So I go 2 View - Arrange Icons by - Do No Sort. And still Nero automaticly moves around MY Files. In the options Name - Type - Size - Date.
How do I get this to STOP!!!

Use other software. It seems that NERO can't shake those bugs, no matter what fixes they release.

  3. Why are you worried about how nero displays your files?? Arent they displayed in size order? do you think they will be burned like this? what other software tells you in what order your files are burned? I fail to see how this could matter.. unless you were doing a mixed audio and data cd. If you really need to burn in a particulaR order then burn files one at a time (in sequence) with multisession and they will be put on the disc as YOU want. I would be interested to know why you want ordered files.

what other famous arsonists are there besides NERO?
Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.

  4. Well It was a Data Disc and I had this e.g:
    South Park
    South Park Intro

Obviously I want the Intro before the presentation so I tried to move it around. But like you said Nero decides to put it in Size First.

I also use Stomp RecordNowMax other than nero for this type of situation.
If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0

If you click on type, name,or date it will re-arrange them in that order. Nero is simply acting like Explorer does when you click it's file column headers.

Lady Oshichi, or do you mean the software? Are you looking at how popular a program is or at how stable and reliable?

  8. Rename the files and add a '_' or a number to their name.

    exa:
    _South Park Intro
    __South Park

    exa:
    1_South Park Intro
    2_South Park

The computer was doing what it was supposed to. Arrange the files in order. South Park would normally come before South Park Intro. Understand?

    Good luck.

  9. Yea I know I can do that but why should I
If I would like it a certaint way:
    101 - Cartman's Fat Intro
    101 - Cartman's Fat
Then Nero should except that otherwise It wouldn't have ti option to not Sort it for me.
I shouldn't have to rename it just because Nero dosen't listen
    You Try it
    Hope you'll
    Understand

  10. I don't understand the problem. This is a data disk right? In that case why should you be in anyway concerned how the disk is layed out. All you are seeing is the directory structure, and it is being ordered for you in one the common ways. i.e alphabetically, by size, date etc. This has absolutley no effect on how the data is written to the disk or read back from it. Its just like data on a hard drive. You have no control over where on the disk the data goes and only minimal control over how the directory contents are displayed.

If you really want the filenames displayed in a certain order, do something like what bottle-necked suggested.

  11. Ok let me explain.
I'm burning this Data Disc for my DVD Player.
    Okay
And if the presentation appears/plays first and then the Intro - It'll look pretty crap. It'll be back-to-front.
    Okay
So I want to move the Intro first without having to rename it because I shouldn't have to. Not I can't be bothered.
    Okay

    Okay
    Okay
So why burn it as a data disc?

If it is divx files, and you have a divx capable DVD player, then perhaps I can understand what you are trying to do.

If they are mpeg files, and your dvd player will play raw mpegs from DVDr, then perhaps again I can understand what you are trying to do.

But for anything else to play on a DVD player, they must be DVD compliant mpeg-2 and correctly authored to DVD-Video standards using authoring software.

So some more details would be nice.

  13. Dude I have a:
    LiteOn LVD 2001 DVD Player
Which can play both DivX and MPG.
I already know about encoding and stuff. I'm not a Newbie
    Okay
    Hope you NOW Understand

Drop the attitude if you want help.

Anyway, use the remote to skip around if it reads data like most players.

Or join the files if they need to play together.

Or read the NERO book or help files.

I think your problem is due to ISO and how things are done on CD.

  16. @rhem,
I don't care what Nero says,If you burn a Data disc the files will ALWAYS be in numerical or alphabetical order.Do as bottle-necked said and add a number in front ex:01_xxxx.mpg,02_xxx.mpg,etc

  18. Sark .. perhaps "Lady Oshichi" software may have been more original than nero6.. Rhem As I said burn one file then burn the other file .. raw (mp)eggs can be bad for your health.. One point is that if you burn thses as a vcd or svcd A) you decide the order b) you get quite a bit more space (15% approx) than a standard data disk... also your friends can play it.

This may then simply mean to use Mode 2 XA and sub folders.

Have a LiteOn LVD 2001 myself, if it handles avi's and mpeg's the same as it does mp3's you have to rename the files according to MOVIEGEEK's method.
Btw. what firmware do you have in the LiteOn?

Same setup here, I know you can use folders if you want to seperate different mp3 albums ... dunno if that work with avi and mpeg. I hope you have a rewritable to do some testing.
