    I got really confused. What are my options to make a dvd from avi. I can make an mpeg 2 from avi and then author it. I just read something about vob files and how you can burn it on to a dvd. What is better, how can I make a vob file.

    A VOB is a Video OBject file, it contains the mpeg video as well as the audio tracks. All you need to do to create your own DVD is author your mpeg video and your audio together then burn.
