  1. I have just bought an ACER 244LM with a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-811.
I have tried burning a dvd-rw but had no success using Nero 6 and Recordnow.

    I'm a bit confused.
I wanted a dvd-r drive and the product spec for this machine states a DVD-RW drive. Can this DVD-Ram drive do the same things as a dvd-r?
I wanted to be bale to backup ps2 games as well as video's.

Have i got the wrong type of drive or is it just a media problem. I am using a Jessops own brand DVD-RW disc.

Any help or info would be gratefully received.

    Thanks.

  2. Well thanks for all the help guys!
I'm posting this for reference for anyone else who is a stuck with the same problem.

I solved my own problem by trying a better brand of media. Memorex DVD-R seems to work just fine, so i guess it was a media issue.

  4. If you have the same model notebook as me thern your dvd only supports dvd-r. It should only read dvd+r - but it won't write to it.

I have a Gateway PC with the same DVD/ RAM drive. It cannot write nor read RW DVDs though it can read and write to -Rs but not +Rs, That's why I bought and external DVD-+RW 4x Drive which I use. The Ram drive only burns at 1x and it is very stable. It will read some of my DVDs that the other drive may show read errors due to disk scratches. The Matshita will for some reason read them perfectly well and so I use it mostly for all ripping sessions and backing up with DVD Shrink.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
