Hi there, my gf has a dvd writer in her laptop & she is having problems with burning dvds.
As the topic subject says, she has a matshita dvd-ram uj 840s type drive installed, she use's dvd decryptor & dvd shrink to burn dvd video discs & every time she burns off movies, they don't correctly play properly, can anyone suggest any ideas?

I've said it might be the quality of the dvd discs she uses, its compatible with dvd-+r/rw, +r dl & dvd-ram, so its not compatibility issues. Its a brand new compaq laptop with windows xp sp2, could it be drivers issues such as the aspi drivers???

From what is mentioned , you need updated tools in reference to ripping dvd's .

There is only one reason you would be using "dvd decryptor" , which should be obvious .

Use dvdfab hd decrypter instead .

Laptop dvd drives are not cheap and quick to replace , so consider an external that has it's own power adapter , and slow the burn speed down to 1/4 of max media rated burn speed when connected to usb2 .

I recommend lg units in external cases as there is less issues , unlike other drive brands .

Use the laptops drive for more IMPORTANT things like , reloading the os , installing office , ect .
Or when required , out and about traveling the country .

    Verbatim or ty's , in dvd-r , max capacity at 4.3gig .

Use imgburn to burn media .

A final note , should be made in reference to firmware update for the laptops dvd burner unit , which may help .

The other issue is, that discs that are burned by dvd decrypter, play & read correctly on pc dvd drives, but not on setop dvd players.
I did consider the write speed of both the discs & her drive, but now usually most dvd 5 discs are multi compatible with write speeds upto 16x on both -+r discs and drives.
