I used NTI CDMaker Platinum 6.5.0.33 and tried my first DVD+RW with my brand new GSA-4040B dvd recorder (the first I have)...

well, I wanted to make an UDF disc, but I screw things up and made some ISO/mode 1 DVD (I dont know what was created!!!), that burned only 2 GB and then a hardware error was reported...

Well, phisically the DVD media has no scratch, is clean, but I cannt finish the disc... Nero reports illegal medium when tried to full erase. If I ask to continue a multisession dvd, it found an open session, but can not close it... NTI CDMaker same thing...

I would like to know if anyone knows a software that FULL ERASE or WRITE to DVD media without listening ASPI errors... I want to revive the media or write over whatever is on it...

When I put the media in drive, WMP opens as it was an AUDIO media... and an error happens, of course...

BTW, there is no REAL hardware error... I can now make UDF media with B'Clips that came bundled with another media same brand...

    Thanks in advance.

  2. DVD Decrypter, right-click on drive--->Full-erase

You might get an error message, just ignore it.
If it wouldn't work, try again.

Also Alcohol 120% has an option to Ignore Illegal TOC in erase mode.
    This may help.

    Well,

no way with alcohol 120%... this error message appeard:

    cannot write medium. Incompatible format.

    I will try dvd-decripter...

BTW, Nero reports that the open session is MODE1 format...

DVD Decrypter seemed to erase it ok... no error message, but I think it was only quick erasure, because it took less than one minute...

afterwards, B'Clips was able to identify media as a blank one, but when I asked it to format (Complete format), it started, then at 10% it found that UDF session formatted before and continued only logically formatting, no more phisical formatting...

near to end of formatting, another error appeard.

Finally, I decided to burn the media myself with FIRE!!!

    Thanks to all.
