  1. When I burn a movie and play it on my dvd player, every time theres a bright flash or bright white the sound cuts out.

Why does it do this and how do I fix it?

    Its really bad on cartoons.

  2. Have you checked for bad frames in the source ?

  3. It has nothing to do with the frames.

    How do fix it?

Before I am able to say if I can help you or not you're gonna have to provide more info. The only thing I know so far is that some kind of disc you have wont play in your dvd player properly.

  5. I converted a avi file to a svcd as I normally do. But all movies I convert when I play them on my dvd player, every time theres a explosion or a flash the sound cuts out for a couple of seconds.

So now a have a GI Joe movie cartoon, that is all shooting and flashes.

The sound cuts out so much because of all the shooting and exlposions.

Bright light makes the audio cut out too.

My dvd player is a norcent from wally mart, wich as never given me any problems.

    Please help.

Also when I play the svcd or original avi on my computer the sound does nto cut out.

Have you tried a SVCD from any of your friends?
Do you only have this problem when you play SVCD or do you have the same problem when you play VCD's and selfrecorded DVD's?

This happens on every SVCD ? What about VCD ? By the sounds of it your DVD player doesn't like SVCD.

Your source is set to look good only on the 0-255 palette, not a tv 16-235 palette, and you are getting all 0-15 colors washed to pure white. It's an encode/user error.

Just post the type of your Norcent DVD player, perhaps owners of the same player know some tricks.
