i have ulead dvd movie factory 2 and i want to import some dvd video into it to re author a dvd i made myself on my standalone dvd recorder. i want to reauthor the dvd with just the main feature which is 50 minutes in length. can i import the vobs directly into mf2 and select a menu template etc and burn a new dvd without the other little bits on the disc? i have ripped the dvd to my hdd using dvddecryptor in file mode. i then tried using dvdshrink to select just the main feature and re-encode it or reauthor it but dvd shrink will not open the vobs. i imported the dvd video into mf2 from the files i have ripped and mf2 says they contain ac3 audio and this is not supported. if this is the case how can i work with this dvd using mf2? is there something i need to do with it? i also want to say i imported the ripped files into tmpgenc dvd author as well, it burnt a new dvd for me but the burnt dvd did not have any sound.
    any help appreciated.

  2. Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 - standard version - does not support AC-3 audio.

    Ulead MediaStudio Pro...

    ...both support AC-3 audio.

(Ulead MediaStudio Pro ships with a special 'LE' version of Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 that supports AC-3.)

  3. You might be able to convert the AC-3 audio to either LPCM or MPEG using the FREE BeSweet utility:

  4. I was able to get MovieFactory 2 to "pass-thru" AC3 sound. See this prevoius Topic

I think you may be having bigger issues though. The last time I tried to re-author a DVD made with a stand alone I had to Demux the video and audio streams using VOBEdit and the multiplex them with TMPGEnc. Then after getting the MPG I could use whatever Authoring program I wanted.

I think the Stand alone does something in the DVD structure most applications don't seem to like.

    Hope this helps
