Hello
I've ordered and received 3 packs of printable Ritek disks from 3 different vendors. Two of them have the word Ritek printed on the center hub and ara wrapped in the red Ritek plastic. The other pack does not has the word Ritek printed on the center hub and is wrapped in clear plastic. DVDDecrypter shows it is Ritek G04 disk. I've only burn 9 disks from this batch and 3 of the disk fail to verified (33% failure rate). I would like to mention that up until now, all my burns with Ritek disk are error free.
My question is, could this batch of disk from the third vendor be one of those lower rated (i.e. grade B, C etc...) and that I should avoid this vendor, or is it just that I'm unlucky and got a bad batch of disk? And that I shouldn't worry too much about this.
Regards,
Webster.

I have just purchased 100 white printable unbranded DVD+R disks sold as Ritek. They are identified by DVDinfo Pro as Ritek RO2 and burn at the stated 4x without error.

I've got some Verb's that id as GO3's. Bought a 50 pack of G03's from Meritline, they ID the same in DVDInfo. The Meritline's edges are a bit bumpy though, and they read 'Ridata' on the hub.

Use ADVInfo, or DVDInfo Pro to get the complete media ID (0E pre recorded info) and compare the ID codes. The bad batch is prob. different, and came off another production line besides the two that are fine. Ritek also has a code on the inner hub of the media. This tells which plant, line, and date of manufacture. Compare these numbers also. The H4's and H5's are said to be from the better production lines -
Ritek is Ridata and Ridata is Ritek.
They are the same thing. If you put them into DVDINFO, you will see they have the same code. Difference? NONE. Why they put a plastic around it? No idea.
Guess they want to be "THE ONLY KIND". I head Ridata had very good feedback at Flash memory area, just don't know if their brand will actually make that much difference when it comes to media. Well, they havne't come out with any DDS tapes or backup tapes.
As far as I heard most of the US distributors for RITEK or RIDATA got from the same source which is located somewhere not far from us just don't know exactly where. Anyone knows?I say if they all got from the same source, not from taiwan, it hardly will burn different. Well. that really depending on the batch of couse.
Any price difference from Ritek and Ridata? I so far seen none.I bought from supermediastore.com and meritline.com so far seems nothing difference (but well, meritline.com cusotmer service is the worse one
). Try ekatomi.com, i heard they got some great discs.
