DVD+R burning with Steinberg Vob Instant cd/dvd vers. 6.5

I do realize that Vob Instant cd/dvd version 6.5 is no longer and bought out by Pinnacle. I am having a strange problem with burning dvd+r media.
I am burning with a Plextor px-708a dual format burner. When I burn content on a DVD+R media it goes through the whole burning process and says it has succesfully completed. When i go to playback on a dvd player it is not recognized. When i do the same with a DVD-R it plays fine.
I also had a sony dru-500a before the plextor and it did the same thing. However, i did not care at that point cause i mainly used DVD-R media for 4x burning. But now with the plexter i have to utilize the 8x DVD+R burning.

Now, when i take the same content and burn it with another burning software like nero, Pinnacle instant 8. DVD Decrypter, DVD Architect etc.... The DVD+R burns and plays fine on my DVD Players.

Strangely enough i looked into the settings in Vob Instant cd/dvd under read and write support and it does not mention DVD+R (I assume this is why) it does mention all the other formats that this drive can handle.

Anyone have any ideas how I can add the DVD+R. This drive does use the mmc driver version 6.80. I also have the registration entry file that i can edit if i knew what i had to do to get DVD+R support.
