I'm trying to accurately shorten the length of a movie. I only have the movie as an m2v and an 5.1 ac3 file. My first idea was to multiplex the two together using 'Mpeg tools' within TMPGEnc, then use the same tools to cut the resulting files.
For whatever reason the ac3 file was not accepted, so I seem to be left with the prospect of cutting the two files separately. Does anybody have any ideas how this might be done

There's a package called MPEG2Schnitt that will cut elementary streams including AC3 (I think). You'll need to do a search on Google for it, but I think it's in German only so be prepared to use an online translator if you don't speak the lingo!
