  1. when i have a dvd to backupi open dvd decrypter and rip it to my HD then i open nero record and open the movie on the HD

    the next thing i do is disable the extras and set only dts if it has it if not i use 5.1

    Then i uncheck the subtitals

    then i burn the cd as a nero IMAGE on my HD and delet the DVD decrypter files then last but not least i burn the movie on a Princo DVD-R white top
    ===============================================

    The problim i get is when i play the movie all i have is a black scren for a long time before the menue comes up and when i say play movie it sometimes takes another 3 mins with a black screen again befor the movie starts

    AM i doing anything wrong i an not touching the menues selection in nero record

  3. Hi rcmpayne.

    My guess would be the "black screen" is actually the image that replaces the titles you disabled.
    The problem with Recode is that, while it does allow you to delete titles, it replaces them with a fixed-image for a lenght of time equals to the duration of the original title.
    So every title you disabled that used to be played before getting to the menu has been replaced by a black screen.
    The same thing applies to the disabled titles that were played just before the movie.

    ouch!, Disney DVD's spring to mind with all those trailers pre menu

    one simple fix is that you can just use Ifoedit and select delete playback for those titles if your player will accept it

    or mod it to start with the Menu by changing the commands but that's something I wouldn't do as you never know what commands you are skipping
