  1. I have read that a lot of people prefer AVI_IO to capture, instead of VirtualDUB, I tried the demo, but when I exit the program I ALWAYS get en "KERNEL32.DLL Error", I've tryed different versions... I use WinME, but when I use Win2000 I don't get the problem but then my capturing is limited..., anyone have problem with AVI_IO, I was thinking of buying the program, but as long it don't work, it will be pointless.
    Are grateful to any reply.

  2. I am using AVI_IO only because I can't get VirtualDub to work correctly. I must play with this more. I'm still using the demo version which is limited by 1. time (need to fudge the system time before I start AVI_IO) and 2. space, only lets me capture three 2GB files, which with the MJPEG codec is roughly 1hour 15min recording. My system is Athlon 900, 512MB, 30GB, Win2000, AVI_IO 3.19C. I ALWAYS get the KERNEL32.DLL error when exiting, but as of now it is only a nuisance, not something that hinders performance. I am seriously considering purchasing AVI_IO but have a few things about that software that I would like to see before I buy it, one being a "pause" button. Sometimes I am watching the show as I capture and would like to pause the capture to conserve on disk space and editing headaches. BTW, it may be just my system, but it is difficult for me to capture to my NTFS formatted drive, I always capture to my FAT32 drive otherwise I get dropped frames. In that case I must stick to AVI_IO because of the stupid 2GB filesize limit on FAT32 drives. Good Luck.
