    Whats a good prog to convert mjpeg movies taken with a digi camera to mpeg so i can make them smaller and send over the net .

    MPEG is smaller, but not small. DivX/WMV9 is probably the smallest you can make it and keep excellant quality. Both use MPEG4 encoding which is roughly 1/3 the size of MEPG2 encoding for same quality.

    MPEG4 is better for very small files (hence reduction in quality). You are looking at 5 MB/minute roughly for VHS quality.....but it all depends on the source video.

    I should have pointed out that it is not a movie camera but an olympus 750 digital camera which has a movie mode option with sound .
    The movie clips are ok but not many folks i know have the pci jpeg codecs on there pc hence the reason for wanting to convert.

    NOT TRUE, NOT TRUE!! If you know how to work the MPEG2 settings, it will only be about 10-40% larger than its MPEG4 counterpart.
