  1. Ive got an NEC 1300a Dvd rewriter and have a pack of datawrite 2.4x DVD+R's and have copyed a couple of DVD's although they copy fairly well they are very temperamental on when they play on my PS2. The PS2 is an old model so will that affect playback? Or am I just copying them wrongly - I use AnyDVD 3 and CloneDVD together and although it sometimes restarts my PC while copying to my hard drive I can successfully copy most. Please help with any suggestions!

    Cheers

You probably are doing everything right. PS2's, while they are capable of playing back DVD's, are, as u mentioned, tempermental, and not the ideal machine for testing your burning prowess. If you plan on being even a casual DVD-video burner, I suggest u purchase a normal standalone DVD player. Inexpensive ones seem to do the best.

  3. Ps2 are very picky on DVD burner's. Old Ps2's will not even read DVD+R. I have a Ps2 and mine read DVD-R and DVD+R good but my friend's PS2 play's them back choppy. And we both bought our Ps2 with in the same time.

  6. I have a launch PS2 and it plays every disk I put in it, mainly DVD+R. the launch model has a crappy laser in it with future revisions fixed. mines been pretty good but there are quite a few that have problems. newer models have better lasers but still have problems because the firware and player software isn't the best. PS2 is a mediocre DVD player no matter which model you have. even their new PSX with built in burner and HDD is being rushed to stores and dropping features to do it.

  7. Thanks for the tips, im goin to now buy a stand alone dvd player. No i didnt know if you pushed setup you can adjust stuff - wot kind of stuff and how? Will this improve playback problems? Cheers for the advice alot of people have told me that -r's are more suitable and others have said +r's are better for them but due to my PS2 thinkin to play my dvds when it feels like it - Im going to buy a stand alone - Any recommendations?

    Cheers

  8. Ps2s also have a dvd diag menu useful to make things work better. I don't know how to get to it, I bet the manual might say.
