Home Setup: Dell XP Home (updated)
DVDplayer1: JVC XV-N40BK (vcd, cdr cdrw compatible)
CD writer: TDK VeloCD 48x16x48 (Firmware upgraded S7S8)
Nero Express Version: 5.5.9.0

Work Setup: Dell Windows 2000 (fully updated)
DVDPlayer2: Philips DVD 711
Work CD Writer: TDK 121032a
Nero Version: 5.5.1.8

VCD: NTSC

Media:
Verbatim CDRW (74min 4x-10x,), TDK CDRW (80min4x,

Problem:
VCD created on home cd writer plays only on DVDPlayer2
VCD created on work cd writer plays on DVDPLayer1 and DVDplayer2

need to get HOME CD Writer to create VCDs that work on HOME DVD
Player.

Experiments:
1. Burning at slowest speed 2x
2. Quick & Full Erase CD RWs
3. Used Brand new CD RWs

Initial Thoughts:
1. Problems Cant be in any of original mpg files
2. Problem is not in media
3. Cant be Nero Express Software at Home because VCD created by it
plays fine in DVDPlayer2. right ?
4. Cant be Home TDK CDRW Drive cause the VCDs play fine in DVDPlayer2
. Right ?

Possible Problems are
1. Home CDRW Drive produces CDs which are not fully compatible. Laser
in writer produces CDs that are not readable by
DVDPlayer laser ? is that possible ?
2. Home DVD player is not that good. Cant do anything about the DVD
player. No updates or hacks found. what else can i do ?
3. But work CD writer and Nero (older version #) Software produces
VCDs that play on Home DVDPlayer1, what do they do differently ?

FINAL SOLUTION:
--> Updated Nero Express to 5.5.10.15 (then updated it again to
5.5.10.54, which worked also on DVDPlayer1) Downloaded updates from
TDK site (or from NEROs site).
