I've downloaded WMV's of Faroese TV shows (legally available) for my dad to watch since he's from there, but what would be ideal is to be able to convert them into avis that work on his DVD player that plays certain AVI files... I think mainly XVID and DIVX. I've managed to convert the WMVs using a program called Prism, but although the sound is perfect and the video is very clear and nice the movement is awful. The video will speed up then get stuck, then speed up then get stuck and go like that the whole way - am I doing something wrong with the settings? Is there a way to play it smoothly.
