  1. Hi everyone,

I am a total newbie to all this burning stuff and I have just bought myself a Lite-On DVD Burner... I am making a movie with some friends of mine and I have edited it using Adobe Premiere... Now, how do I take the edited movie and transfer it onto a DVD-R that is watchable on my Sony DVP-S530 DVD Player... I can't even find the edited movie file except for the project file... Basically I don't know what format my edited movie is in and the only way I know how to get to it is by opening Premiere and opening the project... I need some serious help please! I am totally new to all this...

You're gonna have to learn how to crawl before you can run..But i'll push you in the right direction...

First of all, your project file holds all the links necessary from your edited video. That way Premiere doesn't have to load your actual movie file into itself..When you make a transition, temporary files get stored, and those files are used for timeline export.

Secondly, when you do finish all your editing, transitions, etc., you need to export it to MPEG2 format.

IF you have 6.5. then there's a built in encoder. Simply go to File>Export Timeline>Adobe MPEG ENCODER, and choose the correct settings.

Might I suggest reading up on the project settings, and understanding MPEG2 for DVD authouring...

Finally, authour your compilation..I personally enjoy DVDLab....
    Good luck!!
