Burner doesnt want to acknowledge blank DVD?

Hey

I have been burning succesfully for about a week. Now when I want to burn the burner either asks me to insert blank media(CopytoDVD), or the program just says that the device is not ready(DVD Decrypter), or just says waiting for it to become ready(Nero).

I have been using the exact discs for a week with no worries (Memorex). My burner is an LG GSA-4040B ...

Please any help is appreciated!!

Go to device manager, remove the drive, and then right-click and pick "detect hardware".

Let it reinstall.

same problem same burner. take it back and exchange it

I had the same issue with my brand new Pioneer 106d. What pushed me to finally return mine was that my drive would not even read Commerical Movie dvds, much less recognize Writable media. Oddly enough I could read/write CDs and CDR media. I am know expert on the laser technology involved, but something laser-wise would be my guess

Should I exchange it for a different burner? Or exchange for the same.
