Flashed 106 now only ever burns up to 59% then fails..

Since i flashed my 106 with the "DVR-106D v1.07 -RPC-1+2xDVD-R+12xRip.zip" firmware, which went successfully i have been unable to burn any dvds (and possibly cds but i havent tried those yet).

The drive still reads and appears to operate fine with both the multi region and ripping speeds being unlocked now. However, i have tried to burn several different copies of one of my dvds which i'd ripped successfully to my hdd before each with different programs (including clonedvd, nero and copytodvd) but all fail at the same point which is roughly 60% on a full disk.

With clonedvd and copytodvd it just tried to continue writing but the remaining time continued to increase whereas nero reported it as a data error (though i've tried with several different files so can't see how it could be something to do with the hdd).

Any ideas on whats wrong? Otherwise i think ill just have to flash it with the latest official firmware and go back to slow ripping speeds etc :/

Also try ripping the files with dvd decrypter/ smart rippper and burning a data disc. see if that helps. I had issues with nero buring when i first flashed my drive, causing me to re-install nero. I lean towards RecordNow MAX do to this. Your dealing with a few variables, so you will need to start limiting or ruling out error on the part of the ripping, burning apt. or flash.
Make sure your dealing with an actual 106 drive and not another oem who labeled a pioneer drive. read the other stickies on the above site i posted. Also make sure that your copy of the firmware is not corrupt. There have been posts of successfull flashes and drive errors due to corrupt .zips. check out gradius's posts in the firmware forum for that as well.
