    Hi,

    I have a long clip that is broken into 3 pieces. I want to rejoin it so it syncs properly but there is a few seconds overlap where they both are the same and I have to sync it exactly before I can clip off what it not needed.

    I have tried to do it on the timeline using the preview screen but I am having trouble syncing the old with the new. What is the best way to do this. I really need to 'see' each clip so I can tell when they are synced.

    Help!!

  2. Have you tried using your mouse to "scrub" the timeliine above those specific portions of the clips that you wish to sync?

    Thanks and yes I do that but can only see the main clip in the instant preview box.

    How do I see the Vb clip that I want to sync with the main one?

    I am just a few frames out but am having trouble getting both exact same point to join at.

    Once again the main clip is okay as I can see and hear that, it is the other one I need to see and hear as well.

    Shame that you can't see each clip in their own screen box.

    I know this must be boring stuff fpr thos that know, but it is a pain until you do belive me!

    Thanks again

  4. Here's an idea...

    1. Put one clip in Track Va;

    2. Put the other clip in overlay track V1;

    3. Drag a 2D BASIC moving path onto the clip in the V1 track;

    4. When the moving path pop-up menu appears choose settings that will make the clip in the overlay track shrink into a picture-in-picture box (360 x 240);

    5. Now when you scrub, you can see the Va clip in the background;

    6. Now when you scrub, you can also see the V1 clip in the foreground.

    Perhaps this idea will help.

  5. Here's another idea...

    1. Put both clips in overlay tracks;

    2. Right click on each clip;

    3. Click OVERLAY OPTIONS;

    4. When the OVERLAY OPTIONS pop-up menu appears, drag the transparency slider to 50% for each clip.

    Now the two clips should be semi-transparent, allowing for precise alignment.

  6. Here's another idea...

    1. Position your head between your stereo speakers;

    2. Drag and drop the PAN filter from the AUDIO FILTERS library onto your clips;

    3. PAN the audio on one clip entirely to the left speaker;

    4. PAN the audio on the other clip entirely to the right speaker;

    5. Use the PREVIEW function to incrementally re-position one clip relative to the other until sync is achieved.

    True..

    My experience is whether it be hardware or software, you always get the best support and help from the users.

    We are the ones who struggle and go into conniptions to learn how to use things and therfpore come out in some cases as experts.

    Thank heavens for them, and especialy the ones who are kind enough to share their knowledge.

    I've just got an Pioneer A06 and guess I'll be beating on the door when I try to get into it as well.

    Just put your first clip in the source window. mark your in and out points and drag to the timeline. Do this for the next two clips and your done.
