Ifo & Vobfiles - 1st burning ever on DVD-R

Hello,

What is the best way to burn a DVD-R if I only have got the VTS_01_0.IFO and the vobfiles (VTS_01_1-4.VOB)? Total is less than 4gb. No reg. Code and No encryption. Smartripper was used to get the main movie.

Nero. Dump all the files into the VIDEO_TS folder and burn.

So I don't need to do anything in ifoedit? Some extras was taken away.

You can try on a DVD±RW to see if it works.

No IFOedit is not needed. I use RecordNow Max to do all my burns.

OK so youve got all the vob,vts,and ifo files for the film yeh ? , SO make a new folder named with CAPS LOCK on eg all in capital letters "VIDEO_TS"

Load blank DVD into Burner/Writer

I use Nero 6

Open nero ,select "File" - "New Compilation"

In pop up box to the left at the top change to "dvd"

Now Select "DVD-Video" in left hand window

Select the "ISO" tab at the top of the pop up window

Select in the FILE/Directory name length area "ISO level 1(Max 0f 11=8+3 chars)
Select Character Set as ISO 9660 and leave all other settings unchecked

Click New on far top right

You are presented with a window with 4 frames

On the right - hand side select your VIDEO_TS folder that you dumped all your VTS files etc into

Double click on that folder to view contents

Single click on the first file and press CTRL and A and all the files will be highlighted

Hold left mouse button down over the first file and Drag all highlighted files over the RED VIDEO_TS folder on the left side panel

Depress mouse button and dump your files onto the RED VIDEO_TS folder

(MAKE SURE THAT YOU RELEASE THE MOUSE BUTTON WHEN THE MOUSE CURSER IS DIRECTLY OVER THE RED VIDEO_TS FOLDER

Finally click on the Burn Icon

Sit back and have a cup of tea whilst nero does the rest

I dont think the others are correct.
You need to recreate the navigation files. I would use DVDFab.
It creates the IFOs, BUPs based on the VTS_01_0.IFO in a second.

Update:
I coudn't use DVD Fab as it crashed so I took ifoedit instead.
I created new ifo's and put them in a new folder. I then moved the vob-files to that folder. I then pushed "GET VTS Sectors" in ifoedit.
Chedked the film in ifoedit DVD play. As it worked as I wanted it I burned it. IThe movie starts automaticly without menus and stuff. Works fine for me.

that Smartripper was used to rip the dvd files from the disc soooo

Because the extras werebt included eg trailers etc all your left with is the main movie yeh ?

You might be laughing buddy but you do not have a clue right?

Manx30 ripped the main movie only like this:
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB



You cant just burn these onto a DVD-R!

The only way to do so is to create the missing navigation files with IFOEdit or DVDFab. (VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VTS_01.BUP)

Right Tompika,

That's the scenario.

I didn't have the files needed to just burn them in Nero. (I reied but Nero missed a file: VIDEO_TS.IFO.

I had to create the VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VTS_01.BUP files.
