some dvd-R i burn has a 5 min black screen befor the movie

i have a dvd burner and what i do is use dvddecrypter to save the dvd to my HDD then i open nero record and open it once it opens i delete the extras so my video quality goes up then i burn!

when i play the dvd's in my panasonic 5 disk some comes up right away and some just has a black screen for about 5 min's then the movie comes on!

Why is this? Am i doing anything wrong or am i forgetting anything?

do you mean nero recode?. If you did you are doing nothing wrong because if you remove anything I think it will still playback the video as a blank

this means stuff that have long intros before menu's will have the same amount of black playing time

you could press menu (if you have removed PUOP's) or mod the IFO to jump straight to the menu

Some other programs can strip the crap and get rid of the blank screens before the menu
