  1. I am using TMPGENC to convert a small concert from an enhanced CD to DVD. The sound is slightly, only slightly, distorted and the video shows some pixelation. I was actually impressed out how good it came out, but was wondering if the above symptoms were normal. How good of quality should I expect? What are the optimum settings in TMPGENC? Thanks for any and all help in advance.

.mov (QT) is just a wrapper as is avi ...

since there about a 100 codecs for quicktime ... quality of the.mov (qt) file would depend on a LOT of factors ..

Most MOV's I've seen are like ASF's, badly over compressed. Don't get me wrong, I've seen some impressive ones, but most are poorly done. It's not QT per say, but users forcing the video to be too small.

  5. OK, so if I am reading you all correctly, it sounds like what i've converted is as good as it's going to get, right?

Yup. D/L a legal viewing of say Shrek 2 preview(its in mov format). You can get it with a general search. convert that and you will see the brilliance of the video compared to what you have now with ur qt movie converted.
