Progress bar doesn't work :-(

Hello,

I'm using the last version of ffmpegx resgistered with the "binaries for ffmpegx".
The input movie is a .MOV 720x576 (DV PAL) and i'm using the MPEG4 (mencoder) for the encoding.
The encoding works very well but the progress bar stay at 0% all the time until the end of encoding. The "0%" changes in "finished".

I've trashed the "com.johan@mac.progress.plist" preference without results

Any idea?

This is not normal behavior. Make sure you've run the ffmpegX Installer. Try encoding to other formats, use AVI as input, use VCD as output.. so as to clearly decide in which case the progress information is wrong and which case it is correct.

This action can't bring any improvement.

This is not normal behavior. Make sure you've run the ffmpegX Installer.

Since Panther, i've made a clean install of ffmpegx. (ffmpegX engines installer & ffmpegX_0.0.9_installer)
The binaries are:

I'm currently encoding a .VOB file (rip DVD with YadeX) to a .AVI (XviD mencoder) and the progress bar has a good behavior ! (56% at this moment)

I'll try with others formats when the current encoding will be finished...

Major, could you try to capture a little movie from a videocam (e.g. .MOV with Final Cut) and check if it works with AVI (MPGE4 mencoder) as output?

BTW the progress bar doesn't work also when you choose a "5 sec test encode"... but maybe you already know it...

Yes, in fact mencoder itself doesn't show any progress % information with .mov files.
