quality problems with tmpgenc

no matter what i convert to dvd i get a stuttering picture. the film seems to play ok but keeps jumping all the time. it looks a bit weird. it is assif the frame rate is really low. this problem occurs if i play it back on my pc. dvd player, i've tried numerous dvd players and disks all to same effect. but i know it is going wrong before this stage as it is jumpy on the pc too

EDIT: I have used various conversion guides off this site mainly this one is i prefer dolby digital sound

Does the framerate of your source (avi?) match that of the encoded mpeg?

yes sussed it thanks. i was being thick and frame rate was set to 25 and source was 23.976 doh
