I am somewhat hesitant to post because some participants eat us newbs alive, but I would really appreciate some help. I can capture from vhs just fine - plays back on pc great. After burning to dvd, one dvd player (about 1 year old - Toshiba SD2800) has great video but no audio except at the first when the background music is playing (before starting the movie). Another dvd player (about 4 years old) plays the movies fine - audio and video. Capturing from tv is no problem - the dvd plays audio and video on both dvd players. I have researched for days; read the manuals, previous posts, etc. Nothing seems to work.
Hardware:
2.6 GHz PIV, 1024 mb ram, 80 gig hd, Sony DRU510A burner, Win XP Pro operating system
Capture software:
Sonic MyDVD-works fine
VirtualDub - "capture device not detected"-read on vd's website that vfw is required - I have it so I don't know what the issue is here.
ULead Movie Factory 2 - "can't locate capture drivers"-I researched & can't find a reason for this.
Burned with:
Sonic MyDVD
Movie Factory 2
ArcSoft Showbiz
I've tried with DVD-r, DVD+r, DVD+rw
I thought macrovision might be the problem, but I read that it would lead to video problems, not audio.
I would really appreciate any tips you can offer. Thank you!
