Ok. I have an AVI that is about 15-20 FPS.
Will the encoding software interpolate to 29.97 or whatever it is that is standard for DVD playback on the fly?
Do I need to convert? I don't want my source "speeding up" though.

When you convert, it will not speed up. Most authoring should be able to do that for with little hassle.
