I get the error " Dvdmf has caused an error in BURNINGTRD.DLL". What exactly is this and how do I fix it? I am trying to output my dvd to video_ts folders and always get this error.

  2. Please provide some more information:

    1. How did you acquire your MPEGs?

    2. What are the precise video/audio properties of your MPEGs as compared to the following properties of MPEGs I routinely edit:

    NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
    MPEG files
    24 Bits, 704 x 480, 29.97 fps
    Field Order B
    (DVD-NTSC), 4 : 3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8800 kbps)
    Audio data rate: 256 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo

Did you adjust your project settings to conform to the properties of your DVD compliant source media?

    How large is your project?

I was doing an NTSC capture at 720x480 4,000kbps CBR. It's a wrestling VHS tape so it's 2 hours and 41 mins. I'm not too happy with the quality cause the file came out to almost 7 gigs and I had to use dvd2one to shrink it. There is just too much washed out colors and pixels due to high action scenes. I'm trying to convert this to 352X480 @ CBR of 5,000kbps but it is just taking forever in dvd movie factory 2. Tmpgenc says It'll take 11 hours just for the first 4 gig file (1 hour 40 mins of the capture). Also how come when I am configuring the mpeg options under the capture video section of dvd movie factory 2, I can't select Half d1 mode, it seems to be grayed out and I can't check it. thanks

As far as I know, the Half-D1 template can only be used for encoding when one clicks the MAKE DISC button during the final stage of DVD authoring - using the following settings:

    MPEG files
    24 Bits, 352 x 480, 29.97 fps
    (DVD-NTSC)
    Video data rate: 2400 kbps
    Audio data rate: 128 kbps
    Layer 2, 48 kHz, Stereo

I don't believe it is possible to capture directly to the Half-D1 format.

Which type of capture device are you using?

    Is it an analog device?

Or is it an OHCI compliant IEEE 1394 controller card?

it's a Wintv go pci tv tuner card. maybe one day I will get myself a nice card but first I need a little bit more space, some more ram and a better processor. All I have now is an intel 833 mghtz processor,2 harddrives
(20gig,30gig), 256 mb of ram. I was wondering if anyone ever converts wrestling vhs tapes to dvd? That's what I'm trying to do right now. It turned out ok more or less. I had to capture with ulead dvd movie factory 2 at 4,000 kbps a sec(any higher and I was dropping frames or something cause the people were moving way too fast.) then converted to 352x480 mpeg2 at 5,000 kbps CBR. Then authored with tmpgenc dvd, then shrunk down with dvdshrink. It looks ok during the matches but when they pan out to the crowd or show the crowd from far off it looks grainy at some edges like those older dvd movies like friday the 13th part 4 for example. anyway thanks for the help
